Manasquan is a borough in Monmouth County with a population of just under 6,000 people. It’s a relatively small town that covers about 2.5 square miles, with another 1.5 miles of shoreline. Because of its gorgeous Atlantic Ocean beaches, Manasquan’s population explodes with tourists and seasonal residents in the summer.
The Manasquan Inlet produces corralled, refracted waves, attracting surfers from across the East coast. However, the town’s beach offers more than just surfing. In fact, it is one of the most popular for families along the Shore. Besides the sea, Manasquan offers a charming downtown area with many locally-owned shops and restaurants. So charming, that locals say it resembles “a Norman Rockwell painting”. The Algonquin Arts Theatre, located downtown, features shows and movies that play throughout the year. The historic theatre was built in 1937 and was converted into a live performance space in the 90s.
The Manasquan Public School District teaches students from kindergarten through 12th grade and is highly rated. In addition to its students within the town, Manasquan High School also welcomes students from neighboring towns. Besides challenging academics, the district also offers many other programs, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
