Located in Somerset County, Bedminster is a small township with a population of just over 8,000 people. It is home to one of the most historic Revolutionary War sites in the US, known as The Pluckemin Continental Artillery Cantonment Site. This small town is an attractive place for many different types of people looking for a place to call home.
Although Bedminster is on the smaller side, there is plenty to do to keep busy. There are five parks within the township that the parks department maintains regularly. While each one varies in its offerings, there are plenty of nature trails, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, and sporting fields to choose from. There are also two updated dog parks in town. All these facilities are available to the public, and some may be available to rent for private events.
Bedminster hosts an annual Farmer’s Market that runs from late May to early December. The market is held at the intersection of River Road and Route 202/206 South. Local vendors are welcome to register to sell many different types of items. You can usually find locally sourced fruits, vegetables, baked goods, soaps, cosmetics, jewelry, accessories, and clothes. In fact, most of the items are locally grown or handmade!
Families with children will be happy to know that the schools of Bedminster are highly rated. The Bedminster Township School District includes students from pre-K through 8th grade. They attend a public school located right in town. There are around 525 students and 55 teachers in that school. High school age students attend Bernards High School in nearby Bernardsville. Bussing is available for students that live in Bedminster. There are also many private school options in the surrounding towns of Somerset County.
