Sea Bright

Sea Bright is a charming little shore town of about 1,400 full-time and 1,000 part-time residents south of Sandy Hook. Located in Monmouth County, the town is very laid back, low-key, and family-oriented. You can spot the Manhattan skyline from Sea Bright’s beautiful beaches, marking it as an excellent spot for commuters that want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Since 60% of the town’s residents live there all year round, you could consider it one of Jersey Shore’s best-kept secrets.

The town is easily accessible whichever way you’re coming from - State Route 36 links Sea Bright to Atlantic Highlands to the west and Monmouth Beach to the south. Although traffic can be iffy on the weekends, it’s an easy drive from Exit 117 on the Garden State Parkway south for 15 miles into town. The Shrewsbury River bridge was recently replaced and offers a way to avoid highway traffic.

At Sea Bright, the beaches almost seem private, and you’ll almost always run into neighbors and friends. You don’t have to travel far to get your shopping done either, as the downtown area offers everything you need as far as basics go. There are also several excellent restaurants to choose from right in town. For everything else, it’s just a quick drive over the bridge.

Although there are no public-school offerings right in town, the neighboring towns offer stellar teachers and personalized care. Students from Kindergarten through 4th grade attend Wolf Hill Elementary School in Oceanport, which is a quick bus ride away. Maple Place Middle School serves students in 5th through 8th grade and is also in Oceanport. Older students attend Shore Regional High School in West Long Branch.
