East Windsor

Located in Mercer County, just off Exit 8 of the New Jersey Turnpike, East Windsor is a sleepy suburban community. The town is about 15.5 square miles and has a population of just over 27,000 people. The township is within the Raritan Valley region and is considered a part of the New York Metropolitan area. However, it also directly borders the Philadelphia metropolitan area, making it the perfect spot for commuters to either city.

For families with school-age children, you’ll be happy to hear that the East Windsor Regional School District is very highly rated. The district is made up of six schools and has a little over 5,000 students and 460 dedicated teachers. As well as stellar academics, the district offers several different extracurricular programs, events, and after-school programs. For families looking for private schools, there are several options nearby.

For nature lovers, East Windsor is home to beautiful Etra Lake Park. Featuring picnic areas, soccer fields, and basketball courts - this large park overlooking Etra Lake is the perfect spot to spend time with family and friends. The Park also features a native tree nursery where you can learn about the town’s trees and plants. When you’ve had your fill of nature, there are also several recreation centers, bowling alleys, and movie theater complexes for other fun, family indoor activities.

As for shopping and dining, there are plenty of both in East Windsor. Downtown, you’ll find a wide variety of diners, cafes, shops, and boutiques. There are also several chain restaurants and shopping centers located throughout town. Whatever you’re looking to do, you can find it located right here in East Windsor or in its surrounding towns.
