The charming town of Branchburg ranks 7th in size among all the municipalities in Somerset County. Adding North Brand and Neshanic Station, both within Branchburg Township, gives even more charm to the area. The town is flocked by the Lamington River to the north, the North Branch of the Raritan River on the east, and the South Branch of the Raritan River to the south. The town is also perfect for commuters, with easy access to Routes 202, 22, 78, 287, and 206. It’s about an hour drive to both New York City and Philadelphia, but you also have the option to take an NJ Transit train from the North Branch station.
The schools in Branchburg are highly ranked and widely respected. The Branchburg Township School District serves pre-K through 8th grade students and has just over 1,300 students and 152 teachers across three schools. Students in 9th-12th grade attend the nearby Somerville High School. Midland School is also nearby, which is a non-profit special education school serving students who need individual social, emotional, or academic support. The town is also home to Raritan Valley Community College, which sits on 240 acres in a sprawling, rural campus. It offers all kinds of classes for college age students and adults. Evening and weekend classes are also offered.
