Bradley Beach is a laid-back waterfront community in Monmouth County. This small town of 4,200 people neighbors Asbury Park and is one of the hidden gems of the Jersey Shore. Once known as Ocean Park, the community opted for a more unique name to not be confused with Oceanport. So instead, it was named after James Bradley, one of the area’s earliest investors. Although quaint and quiet during most of the year, the popular vacation spot explodes to 30,000 people in the Summer.
One of Bradley Beach’s best selling points is that it’s home to many under-the-radar dining spots. These unique cafes, restaurants, and bakeries are known for their one-of-a-kind specialties and delicacies. Take, for instance, Del Ponte’s Bakery. A tiny little treasure packed with homemade cakes, doughnuts, and pastries that visitors from all over come to stock up on. For pizza lovers, you can’t beat the thin crust at Vic’s! That’s just a preview - there are dozens of fantastic dining spots to choose from.
However, there’s plenty more to do than just restaurant hop! Bradley Beach is known for its gorgeous beaches and small boardwalk. The boardwalk is small, just under a mile long, but it is still a great place to stroll along the water. There’s a mini-golf course right off the boardwalk as well. The town puts on several community events throughout the year like concerts, festivals, and art markets.
The Bradley Beach School District is highly rated and serves public school students in pre-K through 8th grade at Bradley Beach Elementary School. Older students in 9th through 12th grade attend either Asbury Park Public Schools or Neptune Township Schools. Besides academics, the district provides many different extracurricular activities, sports teams, and before/after school programs.
