Belmar

The borough of Belmar is in Monmouth County and has a population of just under 6,000 people and a total area of 1.6 square miles. The area now known as Belmar was originally known as the Ocean Beach borough and went through a name change in the late 1800s. Belmar translates to “beautiful sea” in Italian and is a nod to the town’s fantastic ocean views.

The town of Belmar is popular for seasonal vacationers due to its closeness to both New York and Philadelphia and its popular beaches. Belmar features its very own mile-long boardwalk with incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean. Belmar’s boardwalk is open all year long, as well as all its public beaches.
